My Day 1 with the Shield Wall Hollow Form Martial Artist has gone extremely well. I finished around level 71 and reached Tier 8 maps, and the build has been performing far better than I expected.
I made the switch into Shield Wall around level 38–39 while playing Hardcore Trade. The early transition worked great, although I quickly learned that stacking Attack Speed is extremely important for the build.
Shield Wall Destroys the Campaign
Once I switched over, the build basically steamrolled the campaign. Bosses that previously required combos were suddenly dying extremely quickly.
My defenses are also in a good place for this stage:
- 6,000 Evasion
- 33% Block
- 45% Armour
- 7% additional Physical Damage Reduction from my shield
I also picked up a strong shield for 3 Divines. It has an open prefix, so I can continue crafting it and potentially turn it into a 1,200+ Armour shield.
Overabundance Is a Big Upgrade
One of my biggest upgrades was Overabundance, which gives me an additional Shield Wall.
The clones already provide two walls, so adding Overabundance effectively gives me three walls, which massively improves my damage and area coverage.
Even without fully optimized gear, I’m already comfortable running T8 maps. My biggest limitation right now isn’t damage—it’s simply getting enough map drops to push higher.
My Next Upgrades
I’m still using level 15 skills and don’t even have a +melee amulet yet, but the damage is already very strong.
My next priorities are:
- Get a better +2 or +3 mace
- Add Attack Speed through Essence
- Upgrade my body armour and helmet
- Improve Shield Wall quality
- Continue stacking Attack Speed
I’m also planning to explore the CI Berserk setup later for even more damage.
For Day 1, though, I’m extremely happy with how the build turned out. Shield Wall Hollow Form is already destroying maps on a relatively fresh character, and I’ll keep pushing it to see how far the setup can go.
